EMERGINGMED.COM RECEIVES
FUNDING TO EXPAND SERVICES

NEW YORK, January 5, 2006 -- EmergingMed.com Inc. has closed a $3 million Series B round of financing led by Advantage Capital Partners. Investors included The Spring Bay Companies, Rand Capital SBIC (NASDAQ: RAND) and Florida Gulfshore Capital. Larkspur Capital Corporation acted as adviser to EmergingMed. The funds will be used to provide new services in addition to cancer clinical trial matching.

EmergingMed develops software applications and provides services to manage and promote patient and physician searches for clinical trials. The company establishes and maintains a database of clinical trials, matches patients to those trials, and provides navigation support throughout the search process.

"Our company has established itself as the leading provider of cancer clinical trial matching and referral services in the United States," said Courtney Hudson, the co-founder, President and CEO of EmergingMed.com. "This recent investment will strengthen our working capital and enable us to hire the staff we need to expand services."

Tim Cockshutt, managing director with Advantage Capital, said EmergingMed participates in a critical aspect of drug development. "By increasing the number of people available for clinical trials, EmergingMed helps speed up the development of new drugs," Cockshutt said. "Having life-saving drugs tested and on the market more rapidly benefits everyone, and we are proud to support a company with such broad impact on our community."

Advantage's investment was made in connection with New York's Certified Capital Company (CAPCO) program, which encourages the flow of investment capital to promising companies located in the state.
